A single disappointing experience gives limited information. Sildenafil supports a physiologic response during sexual stimulation; it does not create desire or remove every physical and psychological barrier to an erection. A structured review looks for correct use, product integrity, health changes, and whether the original treatment goal still makes sense.
Clarify what not working means
Some people mean no erection occurred. Others mean firmness was incomplete, the erection did not last, timing felt unpredictable, or side effects outweighed benefit. Those are different patterns. Record what happened without grading success or failure. The prescriber can only respond accurately when the treatment goal and observed result are specific.
Also note whether the difficulty occurs in every setting. Changes in desire, pain, ejaculation, anxiety, relationship context, or spontaneous erections may point to questions that a dose change cannot answer.

Check the patient label, active ingredient, strength, manufacturer, quantity, and expiration information.
